Executives

Joey Gurango, Founder, CEO / CTO

Mr. Gurango has served as the Company’s Chief Executive and Chief Technology Officer since it was founded. Prior to forming the Company in 2003, Mr. Gurango founded Match Data Systems (MDS) in the USA and served as its President from 1987 to 1991. He founded the Philippine subsidiary of MDS in 1991, and its Australian subsidiary in 1996. In 1999, Mr. Gurango sold MDS to Great Plains Software, which was eventually acquired by the Microsoft Corporation in 2001. From 1999 to 2001, Mr. Gurango was Managing Director of the R&D Center of Great Plains Software in the Philippines, and its Managing Director for Asia. From 2001 to 2003, he served as the Asia Pacific Regional Director for Products and Services of Microsoft Business Solutions, before he left to form this Company.

Fermin “Tarcs” Taruc, COO

Mr. Taruc has served as the Company’s Managing Director since July 2005 and its Chief Operating Officer since March 2007. He is responsible for overseeing the Sales & Marketing programs of the GSC’s VAR operations globally. From 2000 to 2005, Mr. Taruc held the positions of President and Chief Operating Officer in Jupiter Systems, Inc., the Philippines’ largest software applications provider. Mr. Taruc was the immediate part-President of the Philippine Software Industry Association, which has over seventy (70) member companies.

Mike Ladios, CFO

Mr. Ladios has been CFO of GSC since January 2008. His last position prior to joining this Company was Vice President for Operations of Intellectual Property Ventures Group Corp (IPVG), a publicly-listed company on the Philippine Stock Exchange, where he headed the IT, Customer Service and Game Operations departments. In a career spanning over 20 years – Mr. Ladios has served in the following capacities: Auditor at Carlos J. Valdes and Company, Senior Systems Analyst for Abu Dhabi Oil Corporation, and Head of the Finance Department of San Miguel Corporation, one of the largest conglomerates in the Philippines.

Country Managers

Manny Tanseco, Philippine Country Manager

Mr. Tanseco has led VAR operations in the Philippines since 1995. Manny has been managing teams that sell, deploy and support Microsoft Dynamics products for over 10 years. He has worked in a leadership role with a number of leading Philippine VAR’s that delivered their services locally and regionally. An Industrial Management Engineering graduate of DLSU, Mr. Tanseco brings more than 20 years of experience in implementing the Microsoft Dynamics product. His leadership has resulted in the consistent delivery of quality customer services by his teams, who have been recognized by Microsoft with numerous awards such as the Microsoft Dynamics President's Club and Microsoft Dynamics Inner Circle Award in 2003 and 2004, and most recently Microsoft Partner of the Year in 2008.

Brendon Gass, South Africa Country Manager

Mr. Gass (B.S. Engineering, GDE) is currently the Country Manager for GSC South Africa, and was previously a Director of Absalom Systems South Africa. He was instrumental in the database structure and user-interface design for Smart.HR over 12 years ago, and has a deep understanding of the Human Resource Management Software market in South Africa.

Over the past seveneteen years, he has been involved with the design, implementation and operation of various information management systems in the research, engineering, manufacturing and human capital management fields. He has served as the Managing Director of Roland Technical Systems and was the founder of Tricom Structures, both steel manufacturing companies employing over 100 employees in South Africa.

Andrew Gibson, Singapore Country Manager

Mr. Gibson co-founded Absalom Systems in 1995 with his wife, Angela. The company developed a best-of-breed Human Resources Information System (Smart.HR) which was distributed throughout Sub-Saharan Africa. In his capacity as Managing Director, Andrew expanded the business in the African region, while working on the expansion of Absalom Systems to Australia, and then subsequently Singapore. Andrew created and implemented the strategic plans for the expansion of Smart.HR in the South-East Asian Region based on direct sales in Singapore and the creation of a partner distribution network in this region. He now manages the Singapore and Malaysian VAR operations, bringing extensive domain knowledge in the Payroll and HR industries across 3 continents.

Alistair Gibson, Australia Country Manager

Mr. Gibson co-founded Absalom Systems Australia in March 2000 as the exclusive distribution company for the best-of-breed Human Resource Information System (Smart.HR) in Australasia. In his capacity as a Director, Mr. Gibson was responsible for the sales, marketing and distribution areas of the company. He successfully developed and implemented the strategic plans which resulted in an extensive national client base and partner network. Mr. Gibson was also one of the driving forces behind the expansion of Absalom Systems into South East Asia and was actively involved in the development of that market. Prior to co-founding Absalom Systems Australia, he was a management consultant with the Management Consulting Services (MCS) division of PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PwC), where he specialized in Corporate and Operational Strategy and Information Technology Strategy. Whilst at PwC, Mr. Gibson worked on several large organizations developing corporate, IT and enterprise-wide cost reduction strategies.
